We offer Brotherhood, support, fun and a chance to perform a service to the community. We participate in many activities on campus such as community service, athletics and fund-raising.
What is rush?
Rush is the term used for getting to know Phi Kappa Theta as an organization and the brothers of the chapter. During rush, we plan activities and general interest meetings in order to allow you and us to get to know each other better.
What is pledging?
Pledging is the actual process that that prepares future brothers to handle the responsibilities that will be expected of him upon completion. Phi Kappa Theta does NOT HAZE during the pledge process and ensures that your educational process is not hindered in any way.
If I rush does that mean I have to pledge?
No, rushing Phi Kappa Theta or any other fraternity does not mean that you have to pledge for us or any other fraternity. The main goal of rushing is to determine if you like the fraternity and it's brothers. Obviously, if you do not like the beliefs of a fraternity or the brothers of that fraternity then you should not pledge for that fraternity.
Does it cost anything to join?
When you become an Associate Member (or Pledge), there is a $75.00 processing fee. When you are initiated, there is a one-time fee of $160.00. Every year, brothers living in-house pay rent which goes towards to house operations. Brothers living out-of-house pay a social fee.
What are the advantages of a National Fraternity?
It is a great feeling to know that others have gone through similar processes to join Phi Kappa Theta in other states and that you already have a common bond with them. We keep in touch with many other chapters and get a chance to meet them during a leadership conference or convention. Besides that, we also take turns making road trips to each other's schools.
What happens when I graduate?
Brothers of Phi Kappa Theta are brothers for life. We keep in close contact with our alumni and vice versa. Several of our alumni visit at various times throughout the year and usually attend our ceremonies and Spring Formal.
